Tips for Embellished Scarf

  • Buy a blank scarf.  Choose a stable fabric like a fleece, wool or wool/acrylic blend.
  • Select an embroidery design to use for embellishment. Bring the design into your H|CLASS™ 500E Software and print paper templates to use for placement.
  • Using the printed template, mark the location of the embroidery on your scarf using a water or air soluble fabric marking pen.
  • Hoop the scarf with medium to heavy weight water soluble stabilizer underneath so the back of the embroidery will look nice. If desired, wind bobbins with thread to match the top thread for a reversible embroidery. When hooping your scarf, be careful not to pull the fabric. It should be taut in the hoop, but not stretched.
  • Embroider one or more designs as desired.
  • When finished, trim off the excess stabilizer and rinse in luke warm water to remove the remaining stabilizer from your scarf.
